Space Backgrounds | Planets & Nebulae

A compact selection of space backgrounds and planetary images created for Empire: Peripheral Wars, an indie PC sci-fi real-time strategy game by Corris Studio. This is a small part of a larger body of background work: 30 detailed planet images across 10 different biome types, and 95 space backgrounds created with purpose-built nebulae and star fields.

The planets were created in Photoshop using satellite imagery as source material. The nebulae were built from Terragen-rendered components and composited with other elements of the space environment.

The project also includes a meditative fly-through video made in After Effects from the same game background materials, using layered nebulae, camera movement, and parallax to create a sense of spatial depth. I’m keeping this as a compact portfolio piece, but it represents a broader part of my visual production work for the game.
